The Ohio League believes that no one type of program or facility can serve the diverse needs of all our retarded population. Therefore, the League is committed to educating citizens, lawmakers, and state and federal officials to adopt this flexible and realistic policy in the delivery of quality care and services to our loved ones. In order to ensure that the needs of each person are met, we support the development and availability of a full continuum of state operated and private residential options; educational options and employment options.

- To oppose the closing of any Ohio Developmental Center
- To work for laws that will aid all retarded citizens
- To aid families of the retarded to solve their problems
- To co-ordinate aid, public and private, in behalf of the retarded
